TOOL MANUFACTURING
Tools are production aids used to ensure consistent product quality, repeatability, and efficient manufacturing. They make production smooth and cost-effective.
Stera has decades of experience in production tools, jigs, grippers, and other solutions supporting manufacturing and assembly. At Stera, tools are designed as part of the customer’s entire production process.
Our team of 20 toolmaking professionals designs, manufactures, and maintains solutions throughout their entire lifecycle.
We design and manufacture tools that allow products to be moved smoothly from prototype to volume production. Every solution is made to fit the correct machine, production line, and production volume.
Tools are designed from the start to support actual production. The goal is to make manufacturing clear, fast, and repeatable.
Stera integrates tool design and manufacturing into its contract manufacturer and comprehensive service model, ensuring that tools directly support production quality and efficiency.
A functional tool is born from understanding and mastering both the product and its manufacturing process.
For example, we make bending tools so that the part bends correctly the very first time. A punching tool is designed so that parts detach cleanly without extra finishing. An assembly jig ensures that the part is always positioned correctly.
This ensures that production proceeds smoothly and without errors.
Before design, we determine how the product should be manufactured in practice and which solution makes production clearest and most efficient. At the same time, we evaluate how the structure can be implemented as sensibly as possible to ensure the smoothest manufacturing—without overlooking sustainability.
Since Stera manufactures large volumes itself, our design combines practical production experience with tool expertise.
Tools are designed to support the entire production process. When design is done correctly, production proceeds steadily and predictably, and quality remains consistent. Well-implemented tools enhance efficiency. Because the same solution works for larger volumes, it is easier to scale up production.
Good tool design is ultimately reflected in the entire chain: production operates more reliably, faster, and without unnecessary adjustments.
Tools are long-lasting and must operate reliably for years.
That is why we maintain and repair tools during their use. We update them when the product or production changes. We ensure they remain in working order throughout their entire service life. Our well-managed preventive maintenance service reduces disruptions and extends the lifespan of the tools.
Tools are directly related to what the customer ultimately manufactures. They are part of our comprehensive service, just like mechanics, electronics, and assembly.
Therefore, we design tools to support the entire supply chain – not just a single work stage.
When tools and manufacturing are designed together, production runs smoothly and the end result is of consistent quality.
