In demanding contract manufacturing, quality, delivery reliability, and sustainability are built throughout the entire chain. We only work with suppliers and partners who share our values, commit to ethical practices and environmental responsibility, and respect human rights.
If we see room for improvement in our own, our customer’s, or our supplier’s operations, we say so. This is how we build a sustainable, transparent, reliable, and resilient value chain.
Value Chain
Stera’s value chain is built around customer needs. In contract manufacturing, customers often specify the raw materials and components to be used. We are responsible for product manufacturing, assembly, and supply chain management.
Stera’s supplier network includes approximately one thousand suppliers. Most operate in Finland and the Baltics, with some in Central Europe. Around 40 key suppliers account for half of total sourcing. A broad network provides capacity and flexibility but requires clear operating practices, monitoring, and shared sustainability requirements.
We continuously develop the transparency and sustainability of our supply chain together with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Environmental impacts are reduced, for example, by improving the availability of emissions data, refining material information, and developing lower-emission solutions. The core of the entire value chain is collaboration.

Sourcing emphasizes long-term partnerships and supplier commitment to sustainable practices. Supplier selection, evaluation, and monitoring are based on consistent operating models and clear sustainability criteria.
Suppliers and Supplier Code of Conduct
Stera’s Supplier Code of Conduct defines expectations regarding human rights, working conditions, occupational safety, environmental responsibility, and business ethics, among other areas.
Nearly all (95 percent) of our key suppliers are committed to Stera’s ethical principles. We monitor compliance with the guidelines through regular evaluation, audits, and open dialogue.
Material Traceability
Understanding the origin of materials and the supply chain helps meet customer transparency and sustainability requirements. Material information is collected and refined in collaboration with suppliers. We want reliable information on the origin, sustainability, and environmental impacts of the materials used. We actively develop our information-gathering processes.
An ESG AI database has been built from product material and environmental data. This enables us to provide our customers with product-specific material and other data.
Conflict Minerals
Stera is committed to responsible mineral sourcing. We require our suppliers to provide information on the origin of minerals used in products and to comply with applicable laws and international guidelines.
This ensures that our supply chain does not support armed conflicts, human rights violations, or other unethical activities in connection with mineral sourcing.
