PEOPLE AND SAFETY
Good work begins with a workplace that works.
Stera’s work is based on skilled people. Therefore, sustainability is also reflected in how daily life at the factories functions: how work is performed safely, how expertise is developed, and how people are treated.
A good work environment gives Stera employees the opportunity to do their work well and safely, learn new things, and be treated equally.
Social responsibility at Stera focuses on employee well-being, job satisfaction, competence development, equality, and respect for human rights.
A place where people enjoy working
Functional daily life at Stera is built on good supervisory work, open internal communication, occupational health, and support for work ability. We invest particularly in supervisory work and active communication. We monitor personnel feedback through an annual survey and use the results to develop our operations.
Stera employees enjoy their work. Job satisfaction is at a good level and has risen every year thanks to active development efforts.
Competence develops through work and training
At Stera, competence is developed through training, on-the-job learning, job rotation, and career paths. Competence matrices have been prepared for the entire personnel, and development discussions are held annually with office staff.
Expertise is visible in daily life: in the use of machinery, production control, product finishing, problem-solving, and in ensuring that orders are delivered to the customer on time.
A diverse work community
Stera employs people of different ages and backgrounds from over 20 nationalities. Approximately 70% of the personnel work in Finland and 30% in Estonia.
We treat everyone equally regardless of gender, age, nationality, religion, or other personal characteristics. Diversity is a strength for us. We do not tolerate harassment, bullying, or inappropriate behavior.
Safety belongs to everyone
A safe work environment is the right of every Stera employee. It is also born from shared responsibility: following instructions, identifying risks, and acting according to safe working methods.
We improve occupational safety by anticipating risks, providing work instructions, conducting thorough inductions, and ensuring up-to-date protective equipment and safety devices. Our target is to reduce the number of accidents by 15% by the end of 2026, and we aim for zero cases of occupational disease.
